Direction Definition Options

Some functions may require the selection of a Direction. In this case, the Options section on the ribbon allows you to define the direction to be applied.

The following options are available:

Select X-axis: Select this option to set the X-axis as direction.

Select Y-axis: Select this option to set the Y-axis as direction.

Select Z-axis: Select this option to set the Y-axis as direction.

View direction: Select this option to set the View direction as direction.

Rotate on axis: Selecting this option displays the Rotate around an axis dialog box allowing you to define an angle and the reference axis to use for rotation.

Reverse direction: This option allows you to reverse the current direction.

By sphere: Selecting this option displays a sphere in the graphic area allowing you to dynamically define the direction.

By two points: Selecting this option allows you to define a direction by selecting two points. In this case, the corresponding Filter section on the ribbon helps you to define the required points.

By face: This option allows you to define a direction by face selection. In this case, certain filter options for face selection become available on the ribbon.

Hint: In addition to using the dedicated function icon, you may also press the Space Bar to reverse the direction.
